Do I want to transfer registration to my web hosting company?

I just bought my first domain (danconia.us) and have read on here that I should use someone different for hosting than I do for domain registration.

I bought the domain name from hostgator.com and am thinking of using dreamhost.com as my host. While going through the process of buying the hosting service they have asked me which option I want to purchase and I just want to make sure that I don't end up accidentally giving dreamhost control over the domain (name) since I will be using them as a host.

Can one of you kinda help me through this process?

Everything on that page is talking about the domain name being with Dreamhost. The first options are for web hosting plus domain registration, and the second group is just for transferring the domain over to them. If you just want hosting, you don't want to transfer your domain anywhere, you just want to get hosting from them.
