how can u add background transparency to .gif images? i only know how to get rid of the white area around a picture in a png image, but I've seen loads of images that haven't got that silly white square, and they're gif. Anyone know?

You can go to jasc.com and download Animation Shop Pro - it is by far the best graphics editing program i have ever used. You can make animations as well as tinker with unmoving pictures. Lots of effects and abilities with it. it is a 60 day trial (despite the claim of 30)
