Smoothing...?

Hi, look at this image...

http://www.enemydown.org/top1.jpg

How can I smooth out that grey? At the top of the image, the shading of the grey is nice and smooth, but as it goes down towards the bottom of the image, the grey smoothness becomes choppy... How can I fix this? Is there a tool or somthing?

thanks!!!!

Actually, I think it adds a little character to the artwork -- not so fake, because it has a little distortion, if you know what I mean.

Do you have the original file for this? What was it created in?

it gives it a brushed metal look. anyway what you would need to do is:

get the magic wand tool and select that strip of grey inbetween the gradient and the blue,

then add the blue to the selection using the lasoo tool.

then invert the selection and blur it untill bumps go away

tada, hope it worx
