I remember somewhere that enter pages are to be discouraged but cant remember why. I now have the need to use one, and cannot see another way around it, an charity wants a website but they have 2 identities.
You mean a splash page? with like some flash element on it? I think its just a matter of being considered so "90's" lol...Dont think theres a definative reason to not use them with regards to coding validation or bad techniques. But I could be wrong.
To me they are annoying, which I think is why they are discouraged now. Kinda like pop-up adds and tool tips everywhere! Hotmail is the worst for tooltips! lol
HI Teedof
No it would not be a splash page, I just discouraged the client to not use an enter page, but now I find I need one. I just thought that somewhere in my learning we were not to use one. But for 2 identities, I will have to. These people have to be awkward. Thanks anyway.
I heard somewhere that most users have Internet ADD and get bored after two clicks into a website unless they find something that grabs their attention. An enter page would use one of those clicks. Other than that, I think it's fine.
thanks, as they are only using one click I reckon I could get away with it, it is such a nusiance site having two identities. 2 location pages, 2 about pages, etc. etc.
