Question Top Hosting Site

Would I need a separate domain for my blog and website or can they be on the same site? Will this cause a rise in price with hosting also? I'm basically getting 3 yrs but I need reliability.

Most hosting providers allow a certain amount of disk space some even allow unlimited disck space. Regardless, a normal site doesnt really take up that much space. Most hosting sites also allow you to have multiple domains for the same price. You should check with a site before you purchase. Alot of them have a live chat feature that allows you to ask questions about their policies and more.

btw, I would personally never purchase 3 years of hosting service. year at the most.

It depends on what kind of blog it is and how it is going to be promoted. If you are going to write about the same subject the site caters to, then you might as well install the blog inside a folder on your site, like yoursite.com/blog or open a subdomain blog.yoursite.com. If you are only going to use white hat seo to promote the site and the blog then have them on the same domain, if not then separate them into two different domains with the blog one on a keyword rich domain.
