*pounds nail into middle of forehead* Oh yes, that does feel about as good as I do now...
At any rate, my website (http://the-mist.has.it) is still slightly under construction, but I'm coming to a rather disturbing obstacle in my road to future "webdom." Well, it's distrurbing for me anyway.
My site is dedicated to my writings, and to begin posting my works on the net, I started creating a template (like I always do) for my pages. You can view it here: http://www.geocities.com/inion_de_di.../practice.html
And no, all the "blahs" are not what I write. I simply wanted to amaze you with my blahhing ability. (pardon the sarcasm; I'm always this way)
Anyhoo, my problem lies with the middle of my table, where I have the second half to my butterfly wing. Obviously, it looks like that butterfly has had one heck of a ride to have that gap between its wing! In other words, I need to get rid of the gap. I want that second image to slide right up to the first row in the table, fitting seamlessly.
I've never quite done that, and after searching many tutorials at both this site and htmlgoodies, I could find nothing to aid me in my dilemma. So this brings me to one of two conclusions:
One: It can't be done. (Wow, that's deep...)
Two: I'm just not looking from the right perspective. (It's happened before!)
If anyone knows how to help me on this please email me, contact me via the form on my website (contact section), or just reply to this. Any help would seriously sooth my frazzled nerves (perfectionist speaking...).
Well, I'm off of webbie-world for the night, my friends! I have to get up in a couple of hours, and I might as well get that much sleep. What is it they say? That people my age (15) are supposed to get at least eight hours of sleep a day?
Good Lord...I'm going to die very young, then.

BTW: What I said before, by calling you sweet, wasn't ever meant to be ugly. I think it was just a misunderstandment. I called you a nickname (I'm called Cat quite often myself); no ill was meant by it. I apologize if you felt it was aimed toward you in a bad way.
As far as being pleasant to people, I didn't see where I really was trying to be mean. But, you know how the internet is; you can't always tell what a person's meaning is.
Although, I have to say if I had been doing anything wrong (which, as said above, that wasn't my intention), you merely stooped to the same level with dissing my artwork.
I never said it was a butterfly. I said it was a butterfly's WING (it's broken/aged looking) in the top corner. It's meant to be dark and a mere shadow to the page. It's not meant to be outstanding and more three dimensional such as the graphics on my main site at http://the-mist.has.it
But, really, I don't care about you dissing my creativity. It's meant to be dark. It's done the way I like it, and when it's finished, it will look nice, as does the rest of my site.
Tonz, thanks again. Oh, and I do use quotes in the other computer languages I use on the side (CGI, ASP, and a few others), but HTML is pretty good about not requiring quotes on everything...so...*grin* I just don't do it. Laziness is a disease I carry!
Anyhoo, thanks to those who helped, apologies to those who misunderstood, and goodbyes, because I (unfortunately) don't have enough time to balance another forum into my net time.
Hey! What about mine? My code was more valid than Tonz's You also forgot to close the <p> tags, which isn't good practice. That's something only IE has been pragrammed to handle nicely.
Well, never got to see that butterfly... "Page not found", resp. "Unable to load".
Inion (?),
do come back for a site review once you've got it all up and running; i'm certain the people around here can help you to optimize your site for the best result.
