Sprite Menu Image Error

Hi all,

I am currently redesigning my company website and am having problems with a certain error - I have created a sprite menu bar which uses one image but changing backgrounds. The problem is that if you click on a certain page first, the image gets messed up. I've check the codes and it seems that there isn't a discrepancy between one page and the other.

To see what I'm talking about:

1) Go to www.genesyspartners.com/newcontact.php

As you can see, the contact us button appears twice...

2) Now go to www.genesyspartners.com/newrecent.php
3) Now return to www.genesyspartners.com/newcontact.php

The error should be fixed...

I realize that the site is done in PHP, but the menu part is done mostly in CSS so I figured this would be the appropriate place to post - sorry if I got this in the wrong place.

I'd be happy to post any and all codes you need to see if no one has seen this type of error before - also, I realize that this entire site is poorly coded and needs to be validated - I was going to do that after I had set up the site. If that's a problem, just let me know.

Considering the browser displays a website based on its code, then, to do so correctly the code must at least be valid.

If you fix the errors and then see what display issues there maybe, more people here will be ready to jump to your assistance.

Thanks for your recommendation. I have fixed the code and checked it with W3C's validator. However, I am still having the same issue. Hopefully someone will be able to help.
