how do you unlock as many layers as possible in photoshop?

hello,

in photoshop cs4, is there a global setting that can be created to automatically keep all layers unlocked?

i had an image layer locked on top of another layer, and it was really annoying because it wouldn't let me move it. it seems like the default for the program should be to allow the user as much freedom as possible, rather than "locking" things automatically. what is this, a bank safe?

but seriously, if anybody knows any commands to defeat the program's intentions to lock layers, that would be great.

Locking Multiple Layers
The lock icon at the bottom of the layers palette dims when multiple layers are selected, so if you want to lock a group of selected layers you must use the menu and choose Layer> Lock Layers. This is also available from the layers palette flyout menu.

Unlocking Multiple Layers
If you have multiple layers that are locked and you wish to unlock all of them at once, first target each layer, then choose Layer> Lock Layers. A dialog will appear. Uncheck the "all" checkbox and all the targeted layers that were currently locked will become unlocked.

There is a certain feature on how to unlock each layer in photoshop. You can tick the key icon or a lock icon.If i am not mistaken that is on the right side under properties window.
