Showing Off My Awesome Design

I was approached by a local car dealership to design their website. I just thought I would show it off here to impress you guys.

http://www.lingscars.com/

As you can see, this website is completely loaded with awesome stuff.

Well, my website is the 2009 BT Business/NatWest Award winner for IT and Communications, and it turns over nearly £400,000.00 per year (moving £38 million of new cars at retail price per year) - so criticise away chaps.

Show me a site that you have built that is more successful.

I made it myself.

And I can see why. It's completely brilliant. It totally pushes the envelope of modern design.

I mean, why have just one or two focal points when you can have hundreds of them?

And while other websites are stuck in the stone age and keep the weight of their home page below 100MB, you push the envelope once again. It's a genius way to stick it to the man. Have a slower connection? Get with the times! 100MB+ web pages are all the rage.

And I've always wanted to play 70 different games, quizzes and video clips on each page when I go car shopping online. I've tried telling other car companies this, but nobody listens. But you're not like the others. You know how to design brilliantly. You know how to keep someone entertained for hours on just one page!

Thank you Ling, for creating a revolutionary online car buying experience. It truly has influenced my design skills and has been an inspiration to me.

Your home page is 133 tables, 262 divs, and 570 spans of awesomeness.

Holy shiz... I figured it was outrageous but... holy shiz!

I'm amazed anyone would actually lease/buy a car off this site, really. There must be some pretty serious traditional local advertising going on as well to give people a warm fuzzy and drive traffic to the website.

Yeah I probably am just sour grapes

Same problem with my business bank accounts, just so full of numbers and zeros, I can't think where to look next!

And you still missed my 1,500+ fully attributed customer testimonials. Why no one else has that many, I don't know?

Can't possibly be due to my brilliant webpage and service, can it?

Of course, BT Business, Nat West etc don't know a thing about business websites do they? You lot could teach them loads Hahahaha.

Then again... I know the Mac Book for Dummies guide says "One small font size, in grey Helvetica ONLY and whatever you do, don't entertain the visitors. Bore them to success."

Trust me - if in doubt, make it bigger, make it brighter and make it flash.

Oh my… this is an insult to anybody with the slightest bit of aesthetic expertise or standard. But actually you’re right, that’s why porn ads and the like are working so well. Apparently people with good taste and some aestethic expectations are the minority on this world – which is very sad in my opinion.

But whatever. Keep on if you’re happy with what you’re doing and if you honestly think you make the web (and the world) a better place. A democracy has to tolerate that.

I expect that this was the OP creating a second account for humorous purposes. Unfortunately, if it were, I have destroyed its brilliance. Sorry.
