To all thread starters, check your "pm" box for responses, as that's how bidders will be communicating with you mainly using. You can turn on new pm notification by going to "User CP"-> "Edit Options"-> "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages".
To respondents, avoid replying to a thread with a short generic response like "pm sent" as much as possible. It is pointless and clutters up the screen.
To respondents, don't reply to a work request with a summary of your resume. If you're not willing to spend the time to at least read the request and respond specifically to the request, then don't reply. The Web Projects forum isn't a place to get your resume/ portfolio posted on as many threads as possible, it's for the direct, human interaction between coder and client. Members who blanket the forums with their resume replies will be treated as spammers and banned.
To all thread starters, please update your thread's prefix to "resolved", when you've found a coder for your project or partnership (or wish to terminate the request). This is so coders don't waste time bidding on an invalid project. To do this, click on the "Edit" button under the first post of the thread, then the "Go Advanced" button. You have 14 days to update your thread's title.

1) Project Details: (be as specific as possible): I am a PHP programmer, and I use the word programmer loosely. I am self taught and quite proud of what I can accomplish. I learn through sites such as this and a few books.
However, my programming tends to get very messy and I'm not very good at following the rules. Whenever I read up, I tend to skip to the good parts and guess the parts I miss - a lot of trial and error. This method has worked for me.
I have built my business website from scratch. I run a sporting competition that allows people to register online, and create a team, join as an individual to be placed into a team, see their upcoming matches, past results, request fill in players for their teams - many nifty things that my clients are very happy with.
The issue is though that with 1200+ users and growing at a rapid rate, I am aware that my lack of following the rules not only in my PHP coding, but also in my database structure, will cause undue strain on my site.
Basically, I'm looking for someone to re-write and/or clean up everything.
My pages have very little comments in them so it might be difficult to understand what I am accomplishing; but I will be available via MSN (MSN Messenger is all I use so you will need to have this) to help along the way. One of my main issues I believe is repetitiveness. While I use functions, I am probably not using them to the best possible methods.
Some CSS correction is also required.
2) Payment Amount: US$1,000
3) Payment method/ details (Paypal, check? Timeline?): PayPal only - I am looking for someone to start immediately and hoping the bulk of this can take a couple of days. Am willing to pay more if we both feel it is warranted. My business is highly successful but I need my website to reflect this and not have little bugs occurring like they do now.
4) Additional Info (about project or potential bidders): I am looking for someone advanced in PHP/mySQL but also in CSS/HTML.
PLEASE NOTE: I have seen on other job requests people reply saying "contact me" and nothing further. I am not interested in contacting anyone or everyone - nor am I interested in being sent to a website to try and get the job freelanced etc. I simply want people with the skills to contact me, letting me know their experience so I can make a decision on who to offer the job to. If you want the job, please contact me. Anyone who just simply sends me their email or website will not be responded to!
