SQL Server 7 text datatype issues

I'm working on a content management system using SQL Server 7. I don't know if anyone is familiar with this software, but I'm going to post this anyway.

I'm having a problem posting text to the database. I can only insert about 3991 characters into a text datatype column. I read on this man's site http://deathstar.ecs.csus.edu/csc122...pes.htm#part_9 that the character limit for the text field is WAY...WAY over 3991.

So if anyone could explain to me what I'm doing wrong in between the post routine and the actual insert script, that would kick ***.

Thanks.
