Site Tracking

Would like to know what services/programs do people use for their sites to get information for tracking users on their sites for traffic data. Or if people have any to recommend.

http://www.clicktracks.com sells a tool that does logfile analysis - very cool, it can show you your site with little % labels next to each link, showing you what proportion of people went which way.

Depends what kind of analysis you are trying to do. If you after user and your page hits stats, logfile analysis tools such as mentioned above will do.
Other types of tracking may require some custom server site programming.
For example, I currently work on a traffic tracking code that is aimed at sites involved in affilate programs. It will allow to track which site a visitor came from (and if it cost anything), where did the visitor go (does anyone owe for the referral) and which of the ads placed with others provide the return on investment.

the tracker I mentioned above can track referral links to and from your site and its FREE! You do have to have some basic knowledge of cgi to format it for your site. The directions provided are very helpful but it can get tedious.
