I've been using an xml editor. It's okay, but I'm not happy with its failure to auto-indent and the way it views poorly when shown in the "view source" pane of browsers.
Does anyone know of a nice, freeware html editor. No Wysiwyg's, please. Just a good text editor.
My question made me recall, also, that back in the DOS days, there was an editor called "Boxer." One GREAT feature it had was that, when you began selecting a portion of the code in the middle of a line and went to the next line, the select would stay in line with where you began in the previous line.
That was VERY useful because you could take a rectangle right out of the middle, copy it, and paste it elsewhere. You did not have to take all the junk around it, copy it, paste it, and then trim off what you just pasted to get back to the square you wanted.

I believe any editor would do this. Hold Shift and then press the arrows keys. I do it all the time.
Thank you, guys! The NP++ looks to be pretty good! Will paly with it a while, but this, I can tell, is more of a programmer's editor, unlike the xml editor I was using.
