phpBB3 Forums (HELP)

ok so im updating my forums to the phpbb forums since you can change look and such.

it says this:

Required - In order to function correctly phpBB needs to be able to access or write to certain files or directories. If you see “Not Found” you need to create the relevant file or directory. If you see “Unwritable” you need to change the permissions on the file or directory to allow phpBB to write to it.

cache/:
Found, Unwritable

files/:
Found, Unwritable

store/:
Found, Unwritable

now the problem is my permissions..
there Unwritable. so i have to change permissions. im not really sure how i do this.. how would i go by doing this, and witch one would be best to change the permissions for? does it matter?

Assuming your on a Linux server, you'll have CHMOD those folders to 777.

If you have an FTP program, it most likely has a 'CHMOD' or 'Permissions' (or similarly named) function.

If you are using your hosts control panel, it also likely has a similar function.

TY! i finally got it. i had to change it for the folder and its contents. i didnt know that.
