troubles using carousel to display a slideshow

I am using the jquery plugin carousel lite to display a cycle plugin.

While I seem to have gotten some response with my code it has created a number of other problems that I cant seem to rid of.

1) anchors that used to work and do roll over change now wont roll over and wont display as an anchor once the carousel lite image is clicked.

2) images in the carousel plugin now only produce the roll over effect when hovering on the very edge of the image, that is also the only place the anchor hand appears.

3) the back button used to scroll through the carousel images stops working entirely. the next button continues to work fine.

None of these problems occur until right after clicking on one of the images in the carousel plugin. I sure hope somebody has some ideas to this problem
