jQuery Novice needs help

hey people, im pretty new to this stuff, but i been learning as much as i can in teh last few weeks and have hit a brick wall, i need to get an expanding menu going where each menu only expands when clicks and then collapses if another menus is clicked, any ideas? ive done a rough site but the menu items stay open and looks weird,

Have you looked through the plug-ins? There are 54 menu plug-ins.
