I Really Need Help!

Hello All!

I know nothing about programming and need some help!!!

This will probably be easy for you and I really appreciate your help!

I made a chat website and want to add a windows media player along with chat.

What I need is when one chatter wants another chatter to see their webcam they will give the person their ip address. The person who will view the video stream will input the ip address and it will be added to the embedded palyer.

It would be much easier to understand what I need if you look here...

What I need is the input box "url address" "Play Stream" button to input the "url address" into the player code. I dont need anything else shown on the page.

I think if you look at the source of the page you will know what code I need!

Possible?

Not possible with Javascript.

Do please read the posting guidelines regarding silly thread titles. The thread title is supposed to help people who have a similar problem in future. Yours is useless for this purpose.

I have it working! With javascript!

Does anyone have a use for the code? It will allow a user to input a url from a text/input box into a video player. I'll gladly give it to you!

That's supposed to be IE only chat or did you actually get it working in some other browser too?

I'm not aure what you are asking me.

The chat is java and works in the browsers I tested.

I used Microsoft SilverLight for the video. You need to have SilverLight installed for the video to work. It should work in IE and Firefox but I havn't tried it if Firefox.

Sorry, I mean video. I've tried that link you posted and couldn't see anything in FF, in IE it asked me to install some ActiveX control, which I refused but I assume that'd make it work in IE.
I also had a look at the code of the page you linked to and there's some VBScript there. Post your code so we can have a look at it anyway.

The link i posted is not my site. It was just an example of what I was trying to do.

I got the javascript to allow people to input a url into a text/input box and connect to the video feed without refreshing the page.

You need to have Silverlight installed for it to work. When you first connect you might get an error message as I have it configured by default to connect to a live stream that is not streaming. It's offline.

I'll pm a link and a live video feed link.
