Need honest opinions, brutal or otherwise ;)

Hey Dev Pros, I just launched this site and wanted to know your honest opinons about it. I'm a relative newbie developer, and set this site up for some friends of mine. I'm looking for guidance in what I could do to make it better. I'd like to make sure it looks good enough for visitors to buy from it! Easy to get around is good too. I'll welcome any suggestions as to what I could do to make it better too.

Well, if you want true honesty:
It's coded wrong.

You have used tables for layout, and you should know that that is completely bad! Why Tables for Layout are Stupid!

You have 150 Errors, 232 warning(s) in your XHTML Markup. Including a missing Doctype!
You have 46 Errors in your CSS.

I find your whole design very amateurish looking. The images just look really nasty.

In my browser, the following is out of place on the right hand side table. The 'Links and Resources', the 'Ask a Golf Pro', the 'Quick Search' and finally the copyright notice.
I am using FF3 in Linux with a 1024x768 resolution.

Your page seems to load quite slow, and I predict it's your total overload with images. To speed it up a bit, you might want to use a CSS hover for the hover effect on your menu. Instead of Javascript (Excuse me if I'm wrong about that).

Some of the right hand side links are off to the side. I am also using Linux and using a 1280 x 1024 resolution.

I am not a master programmer or anything close to it, but using tables is a big no no when designing the layout of a site.

Use the HTML validator that W3C offers. They also have one to validate CSS.

I am not seeing the same problems in FF 3 for IE. I think the hover-over images in the upper menu are blurry and unreadable as a higher resolution than 1024x768.

The site is very bright and neonist type and most web browsers would shy away from those type of things. And its basically a web store and you will be up against the heavy weight of the in the business like Amazon and ebay. That would a tough niche to crack if you are the owner of the site.

While making a CSS design, you need to take care of making a semantic markup, and should never end up in any kind of divitis or something related.

Have a look at a good 2 column layout, http://www.bonrouge.com/2c-hf-fluid(r).php (you may set a fixed width to the #wrap, if required.)

Also, there is no need to use separate images for displaying your menu items. You could use a single image as background and then write the link text (as such in HTML) over them. Take a look at some CSS based menus at http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/
