Wavy line

Is there anyway to make a wavy line like I made in photoshop? Something simple like moving across the screen would be fine, but if their is a way to randomize each wave that rolls across then that would be cool. Check out the attachment for more details.

Well why don't you remove the hover bit? I'll download the file and have a look.
You should too.

Although I found some other resources such as:

Make a straight line in it's own layer. Then run a wave filter on it.

Then mask off unwanted areas, save as gif.

You will get jagged edges though!

The pen tool is capable of creating practically any curved shape.

This tutorial is fairly lengthy but won't take you more than 30 minutes to read. It really starts getting to the nitty gritty at page 3 so I've given you the link to this page below.

http://www.thegoldenmean.com/technique/pen3.html

Once you've created a 'path', simply go to your paintbrush, select your brush style, size, colour, drawing mode and opacity of your line. Then click the pen tool again, right click on the path and do Stroke path.

Good luck

The link I provided just was a good starting point from the first Google result. I don't mind helping you to get it to work like you want, but I also like to know that you are interested in doing some of the work/learning for the project, otherwise we are doing the work for you here and thats not fair to us. We also don't know what level you are at with Flash, so unless otherwise stated I don't know what you need help with.

That being said, go for it, download it, open it and see what you can figure out! Post questions about it, I'd love to help with what you don't understand.

I don't even know what level I'm at lol. I've worked with flash for awhile, but didn't see any kinds of tutorials on this. Thanks, I'll give it a wack.
