Site review

Hi,

Could you check out this page please:
New intro page

Does it load in your browser?

Does it load too slow?

What do you think of it?

How can I add a "popping" sound timed to play as the stars appear?

Would that sound be too anoying?

This would be an into page, you would not see it once you were in the site, unless you backed out to it.

Thanks for your feedback!

PS The links aren't set-up yet

I'm using IE 6, and the site loads, except for the individual images for the bottom menu.

It's too slow, even with a T1 connection.

I'd rather have the info immediately so I can tell what sort of site this is and which link I should follow -- the animation isn't interesting enough to make the wait for content tolerable.

A popping sound would be extremely annoying.

I have to wonder if the page is worth the effort -- if folks will only see it once, why bother? I'd rather be taken directly to a well-designed home page which has all the links and information ready for me to use immediately.

i agree with catman... the page takes a long time to load... even on adsl... i feel sorry for any 56Kers that go to it... and after waiting that long i would hope to be presented with some helpful information that sums up the site. perhaps with the addtion of this information it would be alot better.

thats some good work there getting it all animated - it would be good if that loaded a little quicker. thats a good start to get improving on

No offense, but that was the most tackiest thing I have ever seen...

Your stars are almost guaranteed to be slow when someone has a processor less than 500Mhz.

You have no preloader, for this giant of a file. We have no idea as to how big this thing is at all.

The font sizes are fuzzy, and sizing it to 100% is not a good idea.

You should look into Flash, instead of using Java. That is completely unreasonable for something so huge. Granted, it is amazing that you even managed to get that via Java all alone.

That image that floats over the screen is an eyesore.

Your site needs a lot of work, and your source code needs a good looking at too.

Otherwise, it is looking as though it has a lot of potential.
