Uploading a Javascrip to a webserver

Hi everyone. This is my first post. Please let me know if this section is not the right one to start this thread. I was not sure so I chose "General web Building".

I have a photography website (http://www.shutterlux.com/) that I did not design. I know enough (following procedures that I have) to upload new photographs but I tried to change something and it is not working (please keep on reading):

If you go to my site (http://www.shutterlux.com/) a "presentation" page will come up for about 10 seconds and then you'll be redirected to my homepage (http://www.shutterlux.com/homepage.htm). The "presentation" page that comes up is random. There is a file that has the different jpg's that are randomly loaded.

There is a script that controls how the files are loaded and how long the "presentation" page is on screen before the viewer is redirected to my homepage. Enclosed are the 2 relevant sections of that htm file:

SECTION 1:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

<html>
<head>
<title>ShutterLux by Raul Sanchez</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="6; URL=http://www.shutterlux.com/homepage.htm">

SECTION 2:

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!-- This script and many more are available free online at -->
<!-- The JavaScript Source!! http://javascript.internet.com -->

<!-- Begin
// Set up the image files to be used.
var theImages = new Array() // do not change this
// To add more image files, continue with the
// pattern below, adding to the array.

theImages[0] = 'presentation/presentation-1.jpg'
theImages[1] = 'presentation/presentation-3.jpg'
theImages[2] = 'presentation/presentation-4.jpg'
theImages[3] = 'presentation/presentation-5.jpg'
theImages[4] = 'presentation/presentation-6.jpg'
theImages[5] = 'presentation/presentation-7.jpg'
theImages[6] = 'presentation/presentation-8.jpg'
theImages[7] = 'presentation/presentation-9.jpg'
theImages[8] = 'presentation/presentation-10.jpg'
theImages[9] = 'presentation/presentation-11.jpg'
theImages[10] = 'presentation/presentation-12.jpg'
theImages[11] = 'presentation/presentation-13.jpg'

In section 1 I have changed the refresh content to 6, from 10 [sec]. In section 2 I have expanded the number of jpg files that are loaded.

I have uploaded this script (with the changes described above) to the webserver where my site resides, substituting the old script. However when I go to the web and go to http://www.shutterlux.com/ the refresh rate is still 10 [sec] (instead of 6) and only the old "presentation pages" show up. Thus it seems that the changes that I made to the script (shown above) are ignored.

My question to you gurus is: Where am I messing up? What I have done is simply to edit the htm file (script above) using Dreamweaver, make and save the changes and uploaded it to the webserver. I have also uploaded the new jpg (presentation-XX.jpg) files to the proper directory in the webserver. Is this correct and sufficient?

This is probably very basic stuff but I am totally lost.

any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Raul.

The changes aren't ignored. They're not there. The source code on the live site still shows a 10 sec meta refresh and 10 filenames. You may have changed the name of the modified file or saved it in a different location.

I am very ignorant regarding all this.
I now realize (thanks Tom) that the source code is not been updated on the remote site.
Where can I find that file on the remote site? I just don't know where it is, where to find it so that I can change it.

Thanks,
Raul.
