Stats Package Review

I'm working on a self-hosted stats package.

I'm looking for reviews and suggestions of what other data might be useful. (the design is a WIP but it should be done soon)

(oh and if you try to run it through the validator you'll probably regret it - there are over 1800 unencoded & atm)

first off, that's absolutely beautiful. only thing i could suggest would be a bandwidth usage chart or even just a table. most places overdo it i think with breaking down the individual extensions, but average file transfer amount per visit per visit length against time of day could give some insight into whether or not to do some load balancing

A little unconstructive, but it’s really, disturbingly funny watching the browser trying to keep up with the validation results

One thing I noticed is that after I clicked on a header to expand it, I couldn't click it again to collapse it. I know you can click a different header to collapse the first one and expand the second, but you might want to consider adding that.

The bars on Visit Analysis don't have a scale...so I don't know how to read them.

Can you figure out Flash support? Some sites would find that very useful.

Perhaps under the page view you could put the directory, so its easier to tell a little more about that page. A lot of your pages have the same title!

This is wonderful, a simple and elegant tool. Will it be released to the public?

Hi,

Users Stats:
- missing a section, unpopular pages, IMO is important to know what pages have poor content and/or are not seen
- Referers section, the 1 and 2 hits can be grouped in a subsection Others and view on user demand, I suggest a 20% of them
- Visit Length, time column, I used to make my own stats for that because the intervals depend of average visit length on page and stddev for it and this way I can see the proportions for some categories of users, accidental, normal users, etc..
- Search/Phrases same observation as Referers
Page Analysis
- unsorted data?
- this is usefull for developer/designer, I suggest some specific info group around http status, 404, 206, 302, ..., probably in another tab
Visit Analysis:
- I suggest adding tabelar data. Some times I cut&paste from stats data and process with other tools.
Keywords Analysis:
- unsorted data?

Missing a overview, usaly I have few sites I monitor, I have no time to follow all this information for each to see:
- what is the state of the site trafic
- what is the trend
- is something wrong
- what I could improve

I hope this help

regards

I second the re-collapsing thing, and I definitely agree on the HTTP status codes. It would be good to know about broken links.

& on the visit analysis, what do the dark blue bits of the bar mean?

total and uniq visitors, values and semnification are in title tag when you mouseover on the bar. Agree will be good a legend on top.
Good point with broken links, I forget.
