Please review this website

Hello all,

I have built a run a browser based MMORPG. Forgetting about the game interface and what not for now can you please take a look at ...

http://www.xyber-wars.com

thats the mean information point website for the game and I'm interested in ways to improve it/make it more striking without cluttering it or cheapening it.

If anyone has any comments it would be much appreciated.

Warm Regards,
Sir P

I'm glad you like it, thanks.

I'm worried though that its 'too plain' making it 'boring' ... hmmm

hmm... well if you looked at my site you'd see that i prefer the plainer look... By all means add the frills, but dont let it get in the way of people registering online, thats the only hurdle, in my opinion.

It doesn't look cheap and tacky, which scores you high already, especially for browser-based games.

I think, though, that the content boundry isn't clearly defined. Maybe a black background along the side's be nice (or just a border).

- invalid html markup:

http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos...er-wars.com%2F

IMO you can use strict xhtml instead of transitional

- it's fast, I don't thing you can improve this but you can try:

http://www.websiteoptimization.com/s...yber-wars.com/

- too many "home" on home page, menu bar + footer

I like it,

best regards

yee definatly needs a background image / color other than grey... blends in too much with the rest of the page, pretty good tho, used tables ey ... div layers are much nicer to use! and get better results.

Other than the screen shots and rss/share widget on the bottom the home page is good. The rest of the site is pretty good except the forums should have a more visible link to the home page, if there even is one that is.

Good job Doctordew.

I definitely like the spartan layout and general look of the site.

I also like the large screenshots. Possibly some graphics are needed on a couple though.

Maybe just a little more contrast between the background colour and white text - although the issue could be with my monitor

I personally like the way you haven't used background images. Others may or may not agree on this I guess.
