Best free GIF animator software?

Can anyone give me a place I can download a decent GIF animation package? I have a few programs but they end up making the animation look really bad. Has anyone had any experience with a good free program?

What you basically need is a compiler

You still have to draw your cels in PAINT or write some script and use a screen capture utility to grab the cels.

Another useful online editor is http://www.gifworks.com/cgi-bin/gifw...=transfer_open
You can at least break the animation into single cels and more.
