Say I'm doing some work for a client and they pay me for making a logo. Under what conditions can they then copyright this logo. If I take the image of the earth and then incorporate it into a logo, can they still copy right their logo? I look forward to your replies
I would suggest that this is a question for an Intellectual Property (IP), lawyer. However, if they want to copyright something, they should already have spoken to such a person before letting a designer see it unless they ask you to sign an NDA/Confidentiality Undertaking. (Based on my knowledge in UK).
Looking at some site like for example this I guess it wouldn't really matter about royalties if you pass a design off as copyright if you use their images in your logo.. no?
