Unhappy web system design

i built a web system with asp/html...
i got it now on plain white background and i realy want to design it like a real software system...i mean gray and white...and may be little other colors too...i need it to look serious and simple(no flash)
i search for examples/patterns/moduls/templates/links...
something that i will be able to look at and get some inspiration...
i used photoshop a lot few years ago...but i realy got no muse

i started to look at some web sites of templates but all i found is lot of web sites designs...no systems designs...

i will be so thankful if somebody will help me with this one

can you tell me if you know how to made such frames like in the screen- i mean you see there is some kind of form box that all of the 3 part of the page inserted inside of them...
-it looks like multiple select box but how they add images and hole this inside of suh box?

You may wanna search for “user interface design” or something like that to get some helpful inspiration. Also, look at the design of Adobe’s current CS3 applications for some modern design approaches as this grey Windows Classic look and feel is kinda boring since “Web 2.0”.

Other sites that might be inspirational are:
Some JavaScript/AJAX (moo.fx, scriptaculous) for neat effects might enhance functionality as well.

And regarding that side panel (I suppose you are talking about that): you wouldn’t set that up as form/select box, I guess. With CSS you can style HTML in any way you want, and the stuff on the left would probably be a list of links or something like that. But we would have to know how your system works to determine what’s the right approach.

Just now, while working with it, I noticed another good site that might inspire you: Google Docs & Spreadsheets. Pretty neat application.
