Which C/C++/Visual Basic/java complier is the best ???

For C and C++, if you want a free, ANSI supportive compiler, GNU gcc is a good one. For visual basic, I dunno if there's a compiler other than microsoft's . And for java there's JSDK and jikes.

BTW, are you planning to learn all these languages or distribute compilers?
