get user's geographical location and redirect

I remember looking into this a few years ago, but never really found a solution......not sure if there is a way to do it now????

Basically I have a website that is in English and German. Is there a way to determine where the user has accessed the site from then redirect to a different URL - possibly with JavaScript or something?

I.E. I'd like to redirect to "..../de/index.php" if the user is from Germany.

Not sure if this can be accessed through browser settings? Or IP address?

I'm pretty sure it has to do something with the user's IP.
