My Personal Site

Hey,

My site is: www.NeilsWeb.com
If you want to test the client zone you can log in as: User:Rony & Pass:12345 (plz don't change the pass, or other people trying to demo wont be able to)

I want to start freelancing a bit so I made a personal site that will act as my portfolio. My goal was to make a simple and functional design.

Please let me know what you think I should improve.

looks good but the yellow hover on the "Why me?" and "Get your free site" makes the font unreadable. the yellow is too bright.

PappaJohn will become famous soon enough
I'd suggest a little proof-reading. Just a few things I noticed:

"pationat skier". should be "passionate skier"

"I try to go skiing as nearly every weekend" Doesn't sound right. Should be "I try to go skiing nearly every weekend".

"girlfriend finialy" should be "girlfriend finally".

I think you're an "accounting student" and not an "accountant student".

On your contact form, you probably want to "reply" not "replay".

Looks nice, if a little pastel. Would the visually impaired be able to read the grey headings?

In your navigation bar, each entry provides an active link to the page you are already on. You need to deactivate these (and ideally make them look different).

A few typos.
On 'My Services', 'remove tables'. There is a slash '/' at the end instead of '.'.

In the nav bar. You have 'Miscelanius' rather than 'Miscellaneous'.

On 'Why Hire Me?' you have 'Experiance'. Would a client hire someone who had not spell-checked their site?

Not a lot of criticisms other than the width of the sidebar being much larger than the content you have in it, and the branding is a little incoherent. Is that watermark your personal symbol? It just looks like a random design element the way it's presented.

I really like the design! It looks very professional and clean!

A few spelling errors I detected (thought you might want to know):

On the "My Services" page:

Quote:
PSD to XHTML:Already Have a design? No problem, I can convert you design into a fully featured website that is compatible with all the latest web statnderds.
Should be:

Also, when you get to "Server Side Development" it seems like the row is not fully alligned with the above text. Might be an error.

Quote:
Directories Submission: Submit you site into hundreds of relevant directories.
Should be:

On your "Portfolio" page:

Other than that, good color-chose and font size. It does also look very good with the hover over images.

Good luck!

As far as I know, "that" is a valid and probably more used word for "which"

I've always thought so, but "that" apparently is recommended by authors. How sad.

Anyway, I must ask: why is there a massive black block in the background? It doesn't look very...right

Stop reviewing, I am changing this domain to a blog so my previous design is no longer located here.

Thanks for all the help!
