Time for a checkup before making new code public

Hi... I've just made a revision to my code and background to fix and stretch the background, though this unfortunately hid the menu in ie, so I've had t make a change or two there too.

As far as I know, it's all fixed now. I'm particularly interested on whether the page works in different browsers as it should (I wrote it using MSIE6 and FF2 in various resolutions... IE7 and opera are untried)...

Also, if there are any other criticisms (barring the rather bare links page) I would most certainly welcome them. The site is incomplete in the sense that there are other pages which are yet to be added, but the skeleton of it is there. It's purpose is to promte the art and poetry of the person concerned, people she wishes to support, and also her new book.

The current version is at http://www.bariane.com/testbed/Site/index.html

Looks the same in IE6 and FF 2.0.0.7.

Almost the same in Opera and Safari (Windows). In these 2 browsers the blue border at the bottom with your copyright and Site Map does not extend all the way to the edge of the white content area - stops about 100px or so from the right edge.

Thanks PappaJohn. Could you possibly post a screenshot of that if it isn't much trouble. I think I understand what you mean, but somehow I find it hard to picture, and though I don't disbelieve you, I find it hard to believe merely for the work I suspect I would have to do (and continue to be clueless over lol) to fix such a thing! "Aaargh!" I think is the appropriate expression for this situation. lol

Oh well... it was nice to think I'd done it all while it lasted!

This is how it looks in both Opera and Safari (Windows)

Oh..... great. That's just plain crazy. Absolutely crazy. With the footer section being a single piece image, I see no reason for that at all.

// start sarcasm
This is going to be fun.
// end sarcasm

Thanks for letting me know, and thankyou very very much for the screenshot.

Brilliant! That was simple!!! It wouldn't display the full width footer because that part of the CSS was outsite of the wrapper/clearfix class, and so had no width to inherit. I just specified the width for the footer div, and it fixed it in both browsers (There is a god after all!!! )

That just leaves IE7 as a major unchecked browser (and IE 5 or 5.5, but I doubt there's many still using them, so I rather doubt there'd be anyone here likely to have it to hand. lol), Opera 8, and any other specific issues anybody would like to comment on.

You can use http://browsershots.org/ to get screenshots of the site from many different browsers.

Thanks.. you're a vertitable mine of handy information you are! lol

The only thing it doesn't have that I would like to know about is opera 8, but I'm not really that bothered about it... only a little.

Just any other stuff then To say I'm pleased so far is an understatement. lol
