WebStoreMaker

I have built an ecommerce system in vb/java script/html at www.vpasquale.co.uk and am unsure about how to freely get the word around to people about it and get their comments back.
I thought i would try this forum?

Hello,
you need a doctype declaration.
your meta tags need to be moved inside your <head></head>
you have alot of external .js files, not to much of a problem, just sticks out to me
also you have alot of content outside your <body></body>
you have the idea right, i think you are just missing out on some key markup rules.
also, if you are using the right click javascript for source protection, it wont work.

WebStoreMaker

The WebStoreMaker will generate source code with the newline stripped out to protect the contents. This might help a little. The reason why the body tag is placed at the end is so that if the isp is using advertising then the ads are placed at the bottom of the web page rather than in the middle. This may cause some of the browsers not to work but i have tried it with internet explorer 5 and its ok. Thank you for the other suggestions.

i agree - the site is a bit clunky, and took awhile to load even with a t1 line.

as far as advertisement, you could register with some of the major search engines, like google. be aware, though, that it takes several months usually to get noticed.

here's one thread where this has been discussed before:
