Bandwidth Woes

Hello ppl,

I am Premshree Pillai from Mumbai, India. I have a site at Qiksearch. I get around 50,000 page views per month until I exceeded my bandwidth limit. I have written some JavaScripts. Some have been featured on JavaScript.com, JavaScripts.com, DynamicDrive.com. I have my host in India. I pay my host annualy and I have a monthly bandwidth of 500 MB........is that the bandwidth that ppl in other countries get for a paid service??

I find it unaffordable to increase my bandwidth..........and by Indian standards I guess I am paying heavily.

Anybody willing to host some scripts on their site??

Well if you can afford $10 US a month you can get 20Gb of bandwidth per month plus much more using Hostrocket.com. That is where I host my business site.

Also for $10 a month you can get unlimited bandwidth at www.activewebhosting.com

People I know who have their sites hosted there are very happy with it

There is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth. Typically webhosts that claim unlimited bandwidth like to put things in the fine print something along the lines of unlimited up to XXGb's per month or unlimited unless we feel it will affect other customer accounts, etc. Most host's that i've come across like that were usually resellers as well and not actually the host provider.

Exactly what Spooker Spooky said, no such thing as unlimited bandwidth...it's just a marketing trick, and there are numerous horribly horrible horror stories (good phrase) from people who have just gotten incredibly big bills from supposed unlimited bandwidth hosters ($20K and up).

500 megs of bandwidth/ month is extremely stingy by most web hosts' standards, though I get the feeling you're referring to diskspace here? I would suggest you simply transfer your site to another host

I've heard good things about http://myacen.com/ Even their $9.95 package includes 10 gigs of monthly bandwidth.
