PHPMyAdmin & MySQL.

Am I the only one who is experiencing this?

My database is paticularly large. (Over 12,800 entries)

But when trying to back it up (Dump the lot) it takes forever. Even on my local machine!

I am running Apache with PHP, with MySQL. The setup is the same on my HD as it is in my Webspace. Quering the databases is near on instant.

Is there something I have missed or a better setup that would speed me up a bit?

I'm using this on a P2 400 with over 300Mb of RAM!
Surely this should not take nearly an hour to dump my database TXT/CSV file?

Once I have the file it is about 3.5Mb. I didn't think this should be a problem on LocalHost but it is!

Can any one help in this frustrating lack of speed!?
