Mouseover for one element instead of many

I am wondering if there is some way to simply assign a mouseover event to a DIV that wraps around a number of elements such that so long as the cursor is within the bounds of that DIV that the mouseout event won't trigger. For instance, if I have a number of form elements I would like to avoid having to assign that mouseover event to all of them and the background DIV.
