In order to do that you will have to learn a server-side scripting language.
But - they aren't hard!
If you are familiar with nothing server-side and you are familiar with Windows, I would go to
http://www.webmonkey.com/authoring , look under "backend" and then "databases" and take the "Rugged ASP" tutorial, and the related tutorials. They will give you exactly the kind of code demonstrations and examples you're looking for, I think.
