Is there a way I can make forum tread titles to appear in the front of my main homepage?

when someone posts a thread in my forum, how do I make it so that that thread title appears in my main page? Can I just take some code and paste it there?

Would that be sort of like an RSS Feed Reader, where you are
listing the titles of the latest threads on another page? So the
latest title will always appear on your main page and people can
click on them to go directly to the threads?

or if its your forum.. you have access to its database? correct?

therefore you could use a simple mysql select to select the latest thread..


someone with more experience in phpbb will answer this
