Need a custom posting template

Hi All,

Not sure what this would cost, but would like a very customized SMF Forum posting template for my members. Want as little freeform as possible and prefer choices given to members in drop down menu boxes, or other type of control mechanism. Trying to retain control over the look of the information while letting everyone be able to post instead of a select few who can follow our format.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks very much,
kchase

Hello! Would you mind sending me more details of the project at marites@teamcreatives.com so we could evaluate it further then send you an exact quotation right after.

Cheers!

I would stay away from this user as he took money from me but a week after the project should have begun nothing had been done. At this point, I decided I'd waited long enough and asked for my money back. He refused saying he had spent a lot of time on r and d and I was not entitled to a refund.

This is just a simple template or form....nothing fancy that would require taking eight weeks to complete and not starting after one week. The person who I have hired to replace him will have it done in two days.

This person also exerts pressure on you to continue with him even when you have said you do not wish to. So watch out for that.

I will now have to involve my attorney to get my money back.

I'm sorry you got burned... best advice I can give is to not pay in full up-front and make sure you have an agreement/contract (informal at least) as to what work is to be done, the deadline for completing the work, and how much $$ will be paid for the work. Sounds like blackstonetech may have intended to do the job, just not on the same timeline as you were expecting.

Hi All,

I read Kchase77 comments about me.

She contacted with me couple of weeks before about the same project. After understanding requirements I provided her two options for this project. She accepted one option and agreed on the price. She paid me just $45 as initial payment to start work.

I spent 3 days for working on her requirements, analysis and initial development. Total time period of the project was one week.

After three days she send me email to stop this work without any reason and pay her back. I asked her you have paid me $45 and i have spent 3 days on this project. I am willing to pay you back half of the paid amount because you are going to stop it NOT mine.
She forced me to pay full amount but how can i pay her back full payment even i have done enough work and spent 3 days on her project.

Guys she is very confused about her requirements and she can not trust on any one. After spending one or two days, she can ask you to stop and pay her back.

Please be careful while accepting her project.

Still I am willing to pay her back half of the paid amount and i will deduct the price only for my 3 days working.

You people can decide if she is right or wrong. I have done business with many people on this forum and never had any bad feedback or issues

Warm Regards,

Kashif

I asked for my money back because after a week I still had not heard a word from him. You'd think that one week would be plenty to get started. He never said anything AT ALL about the money not being refundable, we had no contract or signed agreement.....how do I know he did three days work. I don't. I did not really trust him from the start and now I see why. Is he so hard up that he needs to keep my money? This after me telling him that I am currently unemployed and looking for work myself? I don't think so.....no work was done, no proof he did anything for those three days, and nothing a week after I paid. Any respectable person worthy of their position would have graciously refunded...but this guy is anything but gracious. Can you imagine taking somebody's money and doing nothing??!! I would be ashamed!

I do not need to hire anyone here as I hired an SMF Forum expert and the project is done. And it turned out great! I am so thrilled.

Now all that is left is to get my money back from this clown and all will be well. And, rest assured, I will get it back. He isn't going to know what hit him. I really hope everything it costs him will be worth $45 because I am going after him HARD!!!

FYI, he uses Payoneer instead of Paypal.....they do not have a dispute system...they just ask the payee and he gets to make the decision....which is complete BULLS**T!! Paypal would most likely have refunded me so I am sure that is why he uses a payment option with no way to make a dispute. BEWARE OF THIS IF YOU DO BUSINESS WITH THIS CREEP!

*****update on this situation*****

Okay, wanted to update here.

My bank has refunded me my money and they will now be taking the case up with Payoneer who in turn will have to take the money from this coder. Since he has no evidence of work in the form of a contract or other documentation, their determination is that he is not entitled to the money and committed fraud.

Also, on the advice of my bank I have contacted the local authorities in Oslo and Lahore and given them a report of the fraud along with the website, names, addresses, and telephone numbers of this company.

For your information and so you can know not to work with these people, the website is http://webcrest.net.

bcarl314 will become famous soon enough
First,

This forum is not the place to voice personal disputes. By complaining, in public, about the services rendered (justified or not) you expose yourself to a lible lawsuit. Point 1: Resolve your conflicts in private.

Second,

Paypal does have a dispute resolution policy, but it generally always favors the person receiving money when dealing with contract work. Paypal doesn't get involved with the legal matters of what was agreed to in the contract, and basically will force you into the legal system to get the money back. Their general policy on contract work? If you paid it, you must have liked it at one point. Point 2: Know your payment systems.

Third,

Have an agreement in place. I can't stress this enough. If you're working with a contractor on an hourly basis, you're pretty much liable for everything they claim they did unless you can prove they didn't actually work when they said they did. If you're on a fixed bid project, expect to pay a significant portion down as a non-refundable deposit. I don't know the specifics of this situation, but it seems to me that your contractor took a deposit, and did some research. That is legitimate billable time IMO. Unless your contract specifically stated that he can't bill for this time, you really have no legal recourse to claim fraud. I personally have lines in my contracts outlining the work to be done and "other web related activities required to complete the project" which includes r&d. No agreement = no fraud. Point 3: Have a contract

Finally,

Be clear about your expectations up front. I can't tell you how many times in the past ten years I've had clients come to me for "simple" fixes, then ask for more and expect that to be within scope. A good example I use is a login form on a site. Part of the project will have a requirement like "The user needs to be able to login with a username and password". This can reasonably be implied to mean that there will be a form with a username and password input fields which will validate against a list of active username / password combinations (either a static one, text file, database or something else). However, even this "simple" task gets complicated when the client starts adding things like "I need the system to only allow 3 login attempts, then block them for 24 hours" or "I need the system to not be case sensitive with the usernames" or "I need the user names to change to emails" or "I need max of 3 login attempts, then display captch for 2 more attempts, then block the user". Point 4: Be EXPLICIT in your requirements.

Now, I'm not going to sit here and say that the programmer is always right. That's clearly not the case. Nor am I implying that the client is always wrong. But I am saying is from what I've read so far in this thread, I do not see clear evidence of fraud based on my experiences in the past decade, but a breakdown of one of the 4 points above.

I'd like to know how one is supposed to resolve one's issue in private if the person taking the money is a cheat and never did any work to begin with. Does that sound like someone that is going to cheerfully refund your money? Get real! The only way to shame someone over a wrong they did is TO GO PUBLIC!!

Secondly, this cheat did not use Paypal and if you'd carefully read my posts you'd know that. Paypal DOES have a dispute process....PAYONEER DOES NOT and that is what he used. Convenient for him, huh?

Next, no contract was ever offered to me and nothing in writing, hence my bank's decision to refund the money and go after him and Payoneer.

And, lastly, one should always go public when one has the TRUTH on one's side....truth is not libel...it is TRUTH...something that seems to be in short supply in the world.

I stand by everything I have said and now it is Kashif Nasir and his company's turn in the hot seat. I hope stealing $45 was worth it for the hell he will surely get once his superiors hear he has cheated me...not to mention my bank and Payoneer. Would have been a whole lot easier just to give the money back.

This is your fault as much as the other party's fault. But for $45 I probably wouldn't bother with a contract either. At the same time, with such an amount, I would not really pursue the matter if the developer didn't fulfill his side of the deal. Just not worth the trouble.

At any rate, I'm going to ask that everyone let this thread go inactive and don't keep debating the issue, since it's been resolved and there's really no point in discussing it further. I'll go ahead and close the thread to help us all close the issue in our hearts.
