What is so good about javascript?
I don't think it is that good, so can someone please explain the pros and cons of JavaScript.

This is the Java forum, not the Javascript forum. Moving to Javascript.
Since I don't typically do JS at all, I'm pretty limited in what I can have to say. Pros: DOM capable, event driven, object based language. Cons: Requires a ECMA script compatible environment, performance is directly hinged on client.

Why do you think you are qualified to state "I don't think it is that good"? It looks as though you think (quite wrongly) that Java == Javascript.
