htaccess new root

Hi guys I wanted to change my website root to a folder.
Normally I access my website like this: www.domain.com
But is it possible to set my root to a folder like: www.domain.com/news/
So News becomes the main root index.
But I would like to set it up that even if news is left the url like this www.domain.com it will still redirect to the news index.
Something similar to http://64dd.net/
