Where can I find a list of known spam bots?

I'm working on a project and as a security measure, I will check (to the best of my ability for spam: checking strings for common spam words, etc.) I would like to know, is there a list of known spam bots on the web anywhere?

name some.

The spambot would be the software itself. Is that really what you want? You should probably look more into blacklisting and filtering. For blacklisting, see Spamhaus. For filtering, see Spamassassin.

depends what sort of spam. for example forum spammers, you can check on stopforumspam.com
