To all thread starters, check your "pm" box for responses, as that's how bidders will be communicating with you mainly using. You can turn on new pm notification by going to "User CP"-> "Edit Options"-> "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages".
To respondents, avoid replying to a thread with a short generic response like "pm sent" as much as possible. It is pointless and clutters up the screen.
To respondents, don't reply to a work request with a summary of your resume. If you're not willing to spend the time to at least read the request and respond specifically to the request, then don't reply. The Web Projects forum isn't a place to get your resume/ portfolio posted on as many threads as possible, it's for the direct, human interaction between coder and client. Members who blanket the forums with their resume replies will be treated as spammers and banned.
To all thread starters, please update your thread's prefix to "resolved", when you've found a coder for your project or partnership (or wish to terminate the request). This is so coders don't waste time bidding on an invalid project. To do this, click on the "Edit" button under the first post of the thread, then the "Go Advanced" button. You have 14 days to update your thread's title.
Our company is constantly working new ideas. We're looking for a ninja coder- PHP, MySQL, etc.. You'll be HEAVILY interviewed, so please no need to apply if you aren't the very best.
The job will be full-time, and is simply working on new projects. There will also be opportunities to have ownership in projects we invest in. We're a very face paced company- need things done quickly, so we're looking for someone that can work under those arrangements.

Not to gripe, but isn't $30,000 a bit low? I mean unless you offer other kinds of benefits...
I know. You see this on a lot of boards. John Resig, I think it was, commented on the good boards and the bad ones. And the bad ones are filled with people asking for $10/hr programmers, but who were only willing to pay 5. What they'll get MAY work. But where they'll be able to go from there in terms of maintenance or scalability, etc, or even debugging when inevitably something was overlooked - is another matter.
He said, just stick to those boards where firms are used to dealing with programmers, where the programmer ACTUALLY gets paid and after clear terms of agreement, and where they know what to look for - and DON'T DO 'grueling interviews' just for the heck of it. Either they trust the guy, or gal, or not. Deadline. MAKE the deadline. Call it a $50/hr programmer, let's say, which is still pretty cheap, who could answer all the important questions beforehand. And the job is done right, now and in future.
I don't think you need to apologize to the OP, in other words. They're doing what you see on a LOT of boards probably because of bootstrapping it, uncapitalization. And good luck to them. Don't get me wrong. Been there, done that. Lots of startups HAVE to keep costs at a minimum. They have to be 'creative', and have to hope they luck out underpaying. Hope they do. I expect they won't.
What they might consider, instead, is shopping out particular projects or portions of same, over the web to anyone in the world. Be specific, instead of thinking of an general employee with all the overhead that implies.
