Video Player Questions

Greetings,

I want to be able to play videos on my website and I would like the movies to be hosted on third party servers such as youtube.

I know flash has its own FLVPlayback component but the contentPath seems to only take FLV files.

I would like a player that is able to play various movie formats whether it is mp3, avi, flv, etc.

I want the user to provide a URL to a movie and I would pass that parameter to the player and it would load. Most users upload their videos to youtube. Youtube usually has a URL such as:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAu2G3yJ0g0

It would be nice if a player could capture the movie file from that URL, but that may be asking too much?

So basically I am wondering if there is a movie player that is capable of supporting multiple video formats, and if there is a player capable of supporting youtube videos?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Sincerely,
Travis Walters

Most video services like YouTube offer a way to embed their player.

Also there is a player called JW Media Player which you can download and use for just about any format Flash can play. Search for it on Google, it will be the top result.
