alex phillips is an unknown quantity at this point
configuring IIS and perl

I'm new to this so please bear with me.

I loaded IIS and then the latest perl msi file.

I put a test.pl file into a cgi-bin folder that i created.

In IE when i enter the following:

http://localhost/cgi-bin/test.pl the script runs, but when i enter

http://localhost/cgi-bin/test.cgi produces an error page in IE.

Could someone please let me know how to configure the cgi-bin folder and IIS correctly.

Start by creating a file type association for the .cgi extension (copy the .pl config).
