Allowing users to create Links

Hi All,

I am trying to modify a wiki page to allow normal users to be able to create/submit a URL as a link in their own page or another internet page.

May I know how can I proceed to do this?

Matt

Please give us more information.

What wiki system are you using? (A link would be nice.)

- I don't fully understand this. Is the link going on your wiki page, on some sort of custom user page, or on their own website?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.
The wiki I am using is a custom wiki downloaded from internet and it is running on Lotus Quickr platform.

That particular wiki does not have all the features into one page, I am trying to do that, so that users can enter text, attach documents as well as input a link on same page, that links to another page(internal or internet).

It is something similar to a case whereby in a forum, where the users can input their personal website in a space provided by the forum. I am trying to create that space for users to input their URL.

Regards,
Matt

Allowing users

Hi,

For example:

Let's say I am using this to display a text entering area for user to input their home page.

<td>Home Page URL<br /><input type="text" class="bginput" name="homepage" id="tb_homepage" value="" size="50" maxlength="200" dir="ltr" /></td>

Then how do I get the value of what the user entered and displayed it in their user's profile?

Should I use this javascript method: document.getElementById ?
