First creation is flash ... Would you mind checking it for me?

Hey all,

I have just recently started to do flash... The person I am building a website for wants to have a flash style scroll area (for main content) and a flash gallery ... I am not at the stage of writing scripts myself... So I've gotten the scripts from tutorials. The only one I could find for the content section was written in an older version of actionscript.

Will this have any downfall? I've heard that it loads slower, but I believe it's only a small file anyway ... So is that much of a problem?

I have uploaded it so if you wouldn't mind please have a look for me.

The .fla files are located at

I am also looking for a free tutorial or .fla file that allows you to create an imgae gallery. I can't seen to find one... I need one thats simpe, not too large and easy to implement.

Thanks..

AS2 is still usable, in fact its easier and in small projects the efficiency gains are negligible. Its not loading time, but execution time that AS3 is better at (for complex situations though).

Galleries are everywhere, http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx20...otogallery.htm is an example. Check the sticky thread for more tutorial sites.

While I love Flash, I love it when used appropriately. So as a side note I recommend making sure that main content stays outside of flash, its not searchable (yet) and what will people do who dont use flash?

Seems it's your first, my only criticism is that a horizontal scroll bar appears on my browser. I use FF3. But I'm not on a low resolution.

I think the horizontal scrollbar appears because of your massive background image. You don't have to change the flash

The background image is actually quite small, but just the background of an absolutely positioned div.
