Possible to get rollover effect to display elsewhere on page?

Hi everyone, I've hit a roadblock in a web design I'm trying to implement. The client wants product images displayed in the main content section of a page, and also a textual list of those same products going down the side nav bar.

To reduce clutter, I'm wondering if it's possible, with css, to have the links in the navigation respond when the corresponding product's image is rolled over in the content section of the page. If not, is there another method you can recommend?

Thanks for any help

Let me see if I understand the question correctly. Each time a customer rolls over a different product picture you want the list of links on the side to change to only display that particular products links?

I'm not sure exactly how he wants it set up, I'm focused on getting the basic functionality down first. But what I'm going for is a basic css rollover effect (color switch) to occur on the link which corresponds to the product image that the mouse is on; other than that, no dynamic changes need to happen to the page.

It's called a remote rollover (at least I think that's what you're after), and yes, it's possible using pure CSS.

Wow, thanks msuffern, I couldn't figure out a concise way to phrase what I was after in my Google searches; remote rollover is exactly what I needed.
