Text fade glitch

I've run into this several times before, but I can't seem to get a good solution working.

I have an image fading sideshow script running, but for some reason it's effecting my text too. every time the slide rotates the text seems to dim slightly or flicker. in fact the while page seems to glitch a bit.

I'm assuming other people have run into this. is there a fix?

What browser does it flicker in? And do you have any codes to show, it could be a number of things; without codes to see we can only make rough estimations.

The browser is Firefox 2 mac, and Safari 2.
