If you're looking for a php/mysql programmer, why are you running their portfolio through the w3c validator? I'm a php coder and I had nothing to do with the HTML in most of my portfolio. You don't mention anything about wanting HTML/CSS skills in your post.

Also, is this full time/part time, in-house/freelance, min guaranteed wage?

I was going to email then I saw you accept people who allow up to 15 errors in their work. One is too many in my book.

NancyJ if you're writing PHP that does things like generate RSS feeds, returns values for use with AJAX httpRequests, etc then you have a valid point.

You're also completely ignoring my point, which is that a php programmer didn't necessarily write the html or have anything to do with it, or as is very often the case, after the original coder has finished, some 'designer' has come in a ****ed with it all, meaning, whilst the php still works, the once finely crafted html is now a mess of tables and font tags

Indeed, there is a reason why we differentiate between front-end and back-end developers. And one isn’t necessarily good in one of the other (or both) fields. And you don’t have to be because that’s what “the other guy” is for.

While I agree with the whole front-end vs. back-end debate going on here, that's really a topic for another thread.

My primary concern is that there has been no clarification from the OP about the salary question.

yambh, please update your post or reply with salary info.

Thanks
