Apache log file

Guys, im a newbie to web administration.. i heard that in order to assess the activity of your site, you need to fully understand its traffic.

well, im running on an apache server, i try to use analog, but im having probs working with the domain… I examine the contents of my apache logfile “access.log” and I found out that IP addresses are the ones reflected on it… how can I make apache capture the host address of the visitor so I can easily locate where my visitors are coming from.

Thanks.
