Safari "best for CRT" smoothing as CSS
I am using @font-face to load an ITC-Machine font on my website. This looks fine in all browsers except for Safari which is rendering the font too bold and making it look basically like a bunch of blocks. I was playing around with the font smoothing settings in Safari's preferences and found that the "Best for CRT" setting renders the font perfectly. Is there a way, maybe through a CSS -webkit command, or some other method that I can apply this preference for Safari when my pages load?
I have tried:
But this didn't change anything. What are the other options for this property?
Thanks in advance for any help.
